This is the photoplay edition, with pictures taken of the stars of the movie shot in and around Oracle and the Oro Valley area in 1924. Continues the traditions of a rich-poor, disenfranchised, establishment love story with "bad guys." Also, unlike the 1st edition, has four illustrations - in this case black and white photos of the stars of the movies "on set." The DJ is a colorized version of a fifth photograph. Set in the Santa Catalina Mountains, this is one of two or Wright's books set in Arizona. Written from a camp in Canyon del Oro, on an Oracle-headquartered ranch (Ranch Linda Vista), it was filmed in the same area. Lately the 1924 movie was re-premiered at a Tucson theater to much acclaim. It's a "typical" love story involving rich and poor, disenfranchised vs. establishment and a love triangle. This one has an Indian, not the bad guy, but not all good either because of his treatment by other white people. Scene at the Oracle store makes it quite local. Notable artistically because Wright color-illustrated his own book ONLY with this one and then decided, deliberately to become a writer, not an artist. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
