Horton the elephant keeps his promise to egg-sit, even when everyone else laughs at him and he's shipped off to the circus. Summary: "Hostage" is a about a 11 year old girl named Kaci, who returns home in the middle of the school day in order to retrieve her allergy medicine. She happens to walk in on her house being invaded and robbed by burglars. After hiding throughout the house for some time, Kaci is found and taken along with her old next door neighbor. The two are tied up and kept while the burglars unload all of Kaci's family's belonging. The burglars plan to run a trunk into a river with Kaci and her neighbor in it. However, they poke a hole in one of the tires. This results in the burglars leaving the two into the back of the truck where they are able to break free and call the police. In the end, Kaci and her neighbor are saved and the burglars are caught. Review: The main idea of the story was Kaci was kidnapped during a robbery in her home. This results in Kaci trying to think of different ways to become set free. I thought this book had a good story and was very detailed. For example, Kaci describes the smell of one of the burglars as "a smell about him of sweat and tobacco. This helps the readers visualize the story more accurately and actually feel in the story. The book Hostage is mostly about a girl named Kaci that is held hostage in her own home. She comes back from school to get her allergy medicine, and there are threee robbers. That end up finding Kaci and takeing her to an abandond farm. To figure out what happends to Kaci next you will have to read the amazing boo hostage to get this amazig thrill I got. *spoiler alert* Mixed feelings on this book. It started out really awesome, with a robbery in the first 15 pages, lots of action in the beginning. Then it kind of stalled and got boring for a bit, and even when Kaci was trapped in the house with the burglars, there were parts where it was just like "okay, enough describing/overthinking, get on with it". On the other hand, I really liked the plot as a whole, and Kaci was definitely a likeable character. I also really, really liked how this book contains a religious message without hitting you over the head with it. When the robbery is happening and she is hiding, and then when she and Mrs. Banducci are taken hostage, she puts her faith in God and prays. But it's different then many YA-religious books I've read, this book doesn't overdo it or focus more on the religious aspect then on the plot. I'm not sure if I'll keep this book, but I'd definitely recommend it. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
