Two Lethal Lies was a well-written story, but it just didn't resonate with me. Labeled "romantic suspense," there was very little romance in the book. The mystery was very interesting, but was pretty far-fetched. The motivation of the villain and other characters was never really developed or explained. Overall, however, this was a quick interesting read, just not to my taste. ( )

I won this book a couple of years ago and for some reason I only just read it. I have no idea why I didn’t pick it up sooner. I wish I had.

Two Lethal Lies was a good book. I really enjoyed it and if I hadn’t had a headache the day I started it, I would have finished it in a day or two instead of three. Even though it’s almost 400 pages, it’s a pretty fast read.

I really liked all the characters in this book. However, I think I would have to say that even though I liked Mitch and Nessy, my favorite character by far was Julia.

Honestly, this book came close to getting four stars, but there were a couple of problems I had with it. I know this is a romance and all, but if your child is missing, I really don’t think you’re going to take time to have sex. You are going to be out there looking for your kid. If for some reason you can’t be out there looking for them, I’m pretty sure you would be too worried to be in the mood. I’m not a parent, so I could be completely wrong about that, but I don’t think I am.

There was also another part where it said that Nessy couldn’t help catching her breath, describing Mitch’s brother Dutch and how hot he is, finishing off with any woman worthy of the term would have stopped breathing. What does that even mean? Am I stupid or does that mean you’re not worthy of being called a woman if you’re not attracted to this man? I could be wrong about that as well.

Other than those two parts, I don’t think I have anything else bad to say about this book. I liked it and I am glad I finally read it. I would also like to read more by this author in the future. ( )

Mitch Turner has been on the run with his daughter Julia for eleven years, bouncing from town to town, trying to avoid any attention.
While driving thru Crossroads TN, Mitch does a heroic act that causes him to become acquainted with a local family who offers to let them stay in their carriage house. Julia bargains with Mitch, she wants to make some friends and go to school, Mitch gives in even though he knows the risk of staying in one spot to long.
Mitch gets a job as a short order cook and meets Neesy Brown, even though Neesy has sworn off of men, she becomes enamored with Mitch's kind caring attitude.
Just when Mitch starts feeling comfortable in his new home the local police come after him accusing him of murder, one in the town and one that took place 11 yrs ago. Lies he told are exposed. Threatening everything he holds dear, and the only person who he can turn to for help is Neesy.
How will he protect Jules from behind bars, how can he protect her from the person they have been running from for eleven years ?
This is an amazingly well written book with several plot twists, very well thought out characters, the hero and heroine are so down to earth normal making them very easy to relate to, and a killer who will send chills down your spine.
A suspensful story with murder, mystery and a tale of two people drawn together to save a child who find love in the process.
