Calvin is not like his other cousins, he is not interested in learning how to be a bird, he would rather read books. Instead of learning how to fly or look for worms, Calvin was in the library. His cousins made fun of him for being different and not wanting to learn how to be a bird. Calvin's reading comes in handy when his cousins are trying to fly south for the winter. They fly into a hurricane and have not clue what is happening, but since he had read so many books Calvin knew exactly what to day and was able to get them to a safe place. ( )

Impulse grab at the library because books! and corvid!  Turns out the bird is a starling.  Dang invasive species.  Oh well.  I *love* how the books that enchant Calvin are non-fiction.  We bookworm parents often neglect that side of the library so to see it promoted here is terrific. ( )
