Samuel Wagan Watson

Samuel Wagan Watson is an Aboriginal Australian poet, born in 1972 in Brisbane, Queensland. He completed secondary studies in Morayfield State High School. He has written articles for various publications and media. His books include Of Muse, Meandering and Midnight (1999) which won the Queensland mostra altro Premier's Literary Awards, David Unaipon Award for Emerging Indigenous Writers; Itinerant Blues (2002); Hotel Bone (2001); Smoke Encrypted Whispers (2004) which won the 2005 New South Wales Premier's Literary Awards, Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry Book of the Year; and Three legged dogs, and other poems (2005).
