The Quest for the Dream di John P. Roche
An excellent view of American Democracy, the ghettos, how people lived, how they got out, why they didn't, and the evolution and fragility of Amercan Democracy. I first heard it, soon after publication, by the author himself, on WAMC public radio out of Albany. It had a strong influence on my thinking and my understanding of the United States.
