- The younger brother of the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis was made a general in the French army and married Hortense de Beauharnais, daughter of the Empress Josephine. Napoleon made the couple King and Queen of Holland in 1806 but removed them from power in 1810.

Stukje geschiedenis die ik niet zo op het netvlies had staan. Veel geleerd over de stand van de staat begin 19e eeuw. Verbazingwekkend dat het zo kort geleden is. Zeer leesbaar.
