Danica Mae McKellar was born on January 3, 1975. She is an American actress, author and education advocate. She is best known for her role as Winnie Cooper in the television show The Wonder Years, and later as author of the two New York Times bestsellers, Math Doesn't Suck: How to Survive mostra altro Middle-School Math without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail, and Kiss My Math: Showing Pre-Algebra Who's Boss, both of which encourage middle-school girls to learn mathematics. Goodnight, Numbers (McKellar Math) di Danica McKellar

I love Danica as a Hallmark actress (and side note, we had her on our Hallmark podcast--or friends did since I was busy with Audrey--). And I love that she also has another side to her: her math side. She's more than just beauty; she has brains too.

This book is not earth shattering. But I did love counting from one to ten and finding all of the different objects on the page that correspond with the number we are on. It's fun!

Kiss My Math: Showing Pre-Algebra Who's Boss di Danica McKellar

If you have ever read Everything you need to know to pass middle school math, then you will like this book too. The author talks about her personal math struggles while also giving tips and advice on ways to 'get' math. It also has a middle school feel to it to relate to that level of students more.
