Edmond Jabès (1912–1991)

What I read of this in my "Genre of Poetry" class, really put me off. I have been advised to look again. Never finished it, just read several chapters.

This book contains two types of lines.

Lines which are brilliant.
Lines whose brilliancy have not yet penetrated my thick skull.

And a thinning within.

Thus I reserve a star
for the stars to come

as my eyes adjust
to the night clearing.
