Madame de Chantal founded the Congregation of the Visitation, which was canonically established at Annecy (France) on Trinity Sunday, 6 June 1610. The order accepted women who were rejected by other orders because of poor health or age.
Nice selection of letters for spiritual direction that are gentle and full of love. His correspondence with Jeanne de Chantal, in particular, are remarkable.
