Excerpt from Mysticism and Magic in Turkey, an Account of the Religious Doctrines, Monastic Organisation, and Ecstatic, Powers of the Dervish Orders Protest by the Monks Of Islam has not been without practical results in Persia, so may it likewise be expected to have corresponding results in Turkey From the Sufism of the Dervish Orders sprang the movement of Babism, the initiation Of which was contemporary with the European revolutionary uprising Of '48. This movement, which was sup pressed with the most barbarous atrocities, gave greater promise than any other event connected. This was an interesting and educating book. It was written in 1912 and became a forgotten classic. When you want to know about a country you start at the bottom. I was surprised about a lot of events, issues, religions and history of Turkey because it went all the way back to Moses and other religious people, with some amazing, some unbelievable material. The author got a lot of her information from ancient documents, essays, and books of literature. When she got to the 1900’s I started recognizing some of the information but yet throughout this book there is a few mentions of controversy.
Just the fact of reading events of centuries ago and the situations compared through the years with the Persians, Moslems and the Middle East Countries of Islam beliefs hasn’t changed much. Their beliefs are little more hostile now but even Christian beliefs have gaps in their past and issues. I thought about some of the information about ethnic religions including Christianity and I feel we all share some of the same culture characteristic beliefs and each one has its own uniqueness and by changing a word or two here and there through documents, essays, and literature we all have the same belief, “GOD”….
It does not matter if the “God” is a person or an object or if you have no belief at all. We are all human, some kinder than others but the way things are happening around the World most are all killing their cultures and beliefs. The ancestry traditions and the religion information in this book is under debate just as all societies of today have changed and many are wondering and debating where to live….If I have offended any person reading this, I will apologize….
