am falling more and more in love with this author the more I read her work. I loved loved loved 'A Touch of Scandal' and already have my greedy little hands on 'A Hint of Wicked'. I haven't fallen this much in love with a historical romance author since Karen Harbaugh or Elizabeth Hoyt! I can honestly say I will eagerly await books from Jennifer Haymore and devour them once they are mine.

Let's go into what I love, errr well as much as I am able to articulate, I am still in excited frenzy over this book. I love the spirit and drive that little Becky has even after she has been through so much. I love how the drama in this story is true drama not just some fake drama where everything was a miscommunication and everything can be solved with a word. I enjoyed the sensual scenes between Jack and Becky, STEAMY! This lady can write some steam, yes she can! I err...especially love the wall scene, just saying....anyway, moving on.

This is where I would usually include something I did not like about this story...there was only one thing...Tom...he didn't feel like quite enough of a bad guy. He was a jerk yes but a redeemable jerk once properly taken care of. I love the criminals (a la William Fisk) who we all really just want to die. So meaner and more sinister is the key. Otherwise I adored this book and already started the first in this loosely linked trio. If you haven't read any of Jennifer Haymore's work...'A Season of Scandal' is a great choice! You can read any of her books and still understand the situation. Go forth and read! NOW! (sorry still stuck in renn fest mode) ( )

My first thoughts are about the cover, I love it, it screams Christmas no? What better way to celebrate December 1st than with a holiday romance novel. The characters are pretty likable, even though Jack is pursuing marriage for the wrong reasons (and maybe the right reasons too) he is still charming in his own way and I was rooting for him. Lady Rebecca is pretty tough in her own right, I mean she wanted to acquire a lover to satisfy her needs. You can't help but like a character like that, especially in a historical romance. I didn't know this was the third book in a series, but it wasn't necessary to read the other two, it just would've given you the other characters' stories like Lady Rebecca's brother and his wife. I will be reading those sometime soon I'm sure. The pacing of the story was good, but there were times where I found myself getting impatient and actually worried about Jack's Christmas deadline, I wanted a happy ending, so sue me. Then out of nowhere something happens that creates another urgent situation. You will have to read this book if you're in the mood for some romance, Christmas, and... murder??? ( )

You want to hate Jack for being a lying, manipulative bastard and for hurting Becky, right? Somehow, Jennifer Haymore pens a magnificent redemption and turns him into a truly lovable hero. This book has a great cast of intelligent and likeable characters, and you'll want to go back and read the other books in the series if you haven't already, because you just know they'll be enjoyable. I had a hard time putting this one down. Very highly recommended. I received a free copy as part of Goodreads First Reads program, but this did not affect my review or rating in any way. ( )

What a lovely wrap-up to a beloved series. Jennifer Haymore is my hero! Seriously. Although I had read historical romance in the past, when I read the first in this series, A Hint of Wicked, in mid-2009, I truly fell in love with the genre. Then came A Touch of Scandal which I've read various times since I originally read it earlier this year. And now, A Season of Seduction, well, it's like the icing on the cake.

A Season of Seduction is Becky's story. Now if you've read the previous books, you know Becky has been in and out of trouble for most of the series. What with her eloping with that conniving scoundrel William Fisk, only to be used and mentally abused by him in order to take his revenge on her beloved brother. It's now been four years of her widowhood and she has finally decided to take a lover. That's where Jack Fulton comes into play. See Jack is handsome, charming, smart, he's a sailor and has traveled around the world. He is perfect to play the part. But Jack has his own agenda (ugh men!). Lady Rebecca is beautiful, wealthy, intelligent, wealthy, spunky and wealthy.... and that's exactly what he is looking for in a woman... her wealth. But Jack doesn't want an affair, he needs to marry Becky and he must do so by Christmas. Jack desperately needs her fortune, but in his pursuit of her, he'll come to realize that love is the greater prize.

Becky was everything that I love in a heroine. Although she is fragile and obviously is suffering from trust issues, she is also brave, tough (I mean, the girl will shoot you if you mess with her!), she's faithful, witty and spunky. Jack - although I did have a hard time warming up to him at first - because you can't help but want to protect Becky from him, surprised me in how much I really ended up liking him. Although his feelings for Becky started off in more of a sinister way, they quickly became true and I ended up falling for him just like she did. I loved how we got to see glimpses into the lives of the couples from the previous novels and how Garrett and Tristan were always barging into a room in order to save Becky. These barging in moments were very reminiscent of scenes from the previous novels and always brought a smile to my face.

I also loved that Christmas played a part in the novel too. I think this would be a lovely book to spend some time cuddled with within the next couple of months, although you can still enjoy it any time of the year.

For those of you wondering if this novel can be read as a stand alone, it definitely can be - although there are a few cameos from the couples from the previous novels. I personally recommend that you read them in order... well, because they are phenomenal. I am seriously considering reading all three of them back-to-back - they're that good.

Ms. Haymore has done it again! She not only brought characters that I was pained to finish reading about, but she created a whole series that I am 100% in love with. I can't recommend it enough. A must-read for romance fans. ( )

Just in time for the holiday season! Take a look at that gorgeous cover! It made me want to put up my tree :)

A Season of Seduction is the third book in a series. I had no problem reading it even though I hadn’t read the first two. The couples featured in the earlier books are present in A Season of Seduction, and it left me wanting to know more about how they came to be together.

This was a delightful book. After reading the synopsis, I was worried I wouldn’t like Jack because it sounds as if he plans to use Becky. His intentions might not be the most noble, but his feeling for Becky are genuine. He is flawed, but it didn’t make him less appealing. If anything it might have made me like him even more. I also adored Becky. She is a very intelligent woman, and extremely protective of her independence. It was sad that she was still letting her dead husband’s wrongs effect her four years later, but I admired that she didn’t think she needed to be married in order to feel validated. Her reluctance to accept Jack’s proposal, and all that followed made for delicious sexual tension. I admit to eating up every minute of it. This was a great story of love, loss, and betrayal. I enjoyed the author’s writing and hope to read more from her in the future.

I really enjoyed this book. With the time line taking place around the holiday season, this would be a great book to read in the coming months. I definitely recommend it! ( )
