In the late 1980's Tanya Reid was found guilty in Iowa of Child Endangerment for attempting to smother her son, Michael. While lawyers prepared for the Iowa trial they discovered that Tanya had had an infant daughter who had died of "SIDS" after numerous calls of a "child not breathing" to her home in Texas. While Tanya was serving her sentence, the lawyers in Iowa pleaded with people in Texas to reopen the case. Shortly before Tanya was released from prison, Texas charged her with murder. After rejecting a plea bargain, Tanya Reid is now serving a 40 year sentence in Texas. ( )
