He approaches a witch, a knight, a princess, a king and queen, and a fairy, but they are not willing to welcome him. Finally, the dragon's mother finds him and he feels welcome and safe. This book is a charming fiction book about a baby dragon looking for someone to love and cuddle him. Finally after a long search for someone to love, he finds the place he belongs, in his mothers arms. This adorable book has large bright illustrations done in pastel water colors, colored pencils and pen. The rhyming text is soothingly predictable and flows well into each page. A very charming story, sure to make every child fall in love with this little dragon. A baby dragon is looking for someone to belong to, but everybody seems to be far too frightened of him; a rather inexplicable circumstance since this is about the most unassuming, adorable dragon you've ever seen. The witch doesn't have enough room on her broom, the knight quivers, and the king and queen hide. Who will provide cuddles and love for this poor dragon? By the end, the perfect caretaker (one who looks remarkably like a larger version of the baby) has arrived. Lindsey Gardiner's illustrations are cute, but don't go much of anywhere beyond that, although the spread of the dragon assisting the witch is quite charming. It's a sweet enough story, but not particularly exceptional. I didn't get much of any kind of a reaction from any of the storytime crowds on this, so I probably wouldn't use it again, but try something else. Used for Delightful Dragons Storytime - Terrific T's 4/20/10, Preschool 4/20/10 and Family 4/20/10. This is a cute book. It has colorful illustrations that catch the imagination, and it is quick but fun to read. It definitely teaches the value of family and of mothers. My only complaints are that the rhyme at the very end sorta falls apart a little and that it doesn't teach tolerance of those different than you. But those are incredibly nit-picky comments, which is why I still gave the book 4.5 stars. My kids definitely enjoyed it. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
