A nice feel-good manga about a used book store that sells only manga. This is basically a series of short stories about the people who come in to the shop and buy manga (or sell manga, or glance at manga). Everyone is touched in a positive way by the magic of this shop.

Manga saves the world!

It was nice to read some uplifting "have hope" stories for a change. ( )

I'm a bibliophile - something that should be obvious to anyone who is using this site. Also, considering that you, too, use Goodreads, then the odds are high that you are also a bibliophile. Well, this series is basically a fan-service series for bibliophiles. Yes, they're talking about manga instead of more conventional books, but the points still stand - this is a manga about books and the people who love them, for people who love books, by someone who loves books.

The writer, Seimu Yoshizaki, understands books, and wants to share his love of books with the reader - and does a fantastic job of doing it over the course of the manga, through good art and great writing. I simply cannot recommend this manga enough. ( )

There are many many ,manga books published in Japan every year, but few make it into English translation - suggesting that the ones that do have that distinction might stand out from the pack. Well, this little volume supports the theory. This is a set on nicely crafted chapters, many with new characters, but all based around people associated with Kingyo Used Books - the bookshop for manga fanatics.
I enjoyed the story telling, and the novelty of the graphic presentation. The translation is excellent - both in the text bubbles, and also in the signs and other text that appears in the graphics. There are occasional marginal explanations of particular mangas or Japanese concepts that might be unfamiliar to the English reader - but these are never intrusive.
So, good reading, and I'm ready for Volume 2. ( )
