Critter and his friend play together all day, and have a sleep over until the morning arrives. In the morning, after the two play with his friend’s puppy, Critter has to call his mom and go home after hanging out with his friend. The illustrations in this story are generic and simple, but have just the right amount of details for the reader to understand what is going on as the story plays out. This book is a good starting point for children who are just learning to read books with longer sentences. It could also be recommended as a book for children who learn better through LEA reading (Leeland, Lewison, & Harste, 2013, p. 50) where a child can read the book, and explain to someone, in their own words, what the book was all about. It is definitely a good starting point for children at any age who are just learning to read. A lesson that can be taught in this story is a lesson of jealousy, and what it means to be jealous. There are ways to overcome jealousy, and this might be a way that children can talk about what has made them jealous, but are able to see past it and see how happy it makes their friend. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
