This collection of Charle's Christmas stories is much smaller than the previous volume, but it's still for of little magical gems. Most of the stories included have been reprinted as part of other story collections as well, so not reading this volume won't mean missing any thing, but I do like how the collection is full of Christmas-themes stories. There's all infused with a sense of hope, so the collection has a more happy feel than any other anthology, and it kind of feels like we get to experience what it's like to be part of Charles' extended family and friends :) ( )

Good examples of de Lint's urban fantasy, with generous doses of magic and hope. I'm downgrading this from four stars because I've read all but one of the stories in other collections, so it was disappointing to find only one new tale among the lot. ( )
