As a doctor on a ship he travels to some very interesting places. But life at sea can be dangerous, too. Gulliver's ship is destroyed in a storm, and it takes every bit of his strength to swim to shore, where he falls asleep all alone. But he is not alone for long - Gulliver awakens to find himself being held captive on an island called Lilliput by people who are only six inches tall! Although they don't trust him at first, soon enough the Lilliputians see how handy it can be to have Gulliver around--at least some of the time. And Gulliver adds another exotic, exciting, and very funny adventure to his life experiences. I enjoyed the fantasy book called “Gulliver in Lilliput” for many reasons. One of the reasons I enjoyed this book was that it was about a man who was lost at sea and swam to this little town called Lilliput with smaller people than himself. This story would be very interesting to a young reader because it is fantasy and not something that could happen in real life. An example of the unrealistic events that happen are when the little people were so scared of Gulliver, the whole town tied him up to make sure Guillver would not hurt them. Also, the author Lisa Findlay talked about how the little people liked Guillver because he helped them do things that were not able to do because of their size. Exploring this type of story would have children think outside of the box with how there are so many different types of people in the world with size, gender, race, and ethnicity. The illustrations drawn by Antonio Javier Caparo made the story come alive with how the little people adored Guillver throughout the book. The big idea of this book is for young readers to accept people for their differences and to help others when they need it most. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
