This is a book about the meaning of Christmas, looking at it as a Christian holiday. It discusses the birth of Jesus and how all the symbols of Christmas are in some way related to the Christmas story of Jesus Christ's birth. It briefly discusses the legend of St. Nicholas or Santa Claus as well. I like how she incorporates both aspects of Christmas in her one book, as in the Christian tradition celebrating the birth of Jesus and worldly tradition with St. Nicholas. ( )
