By Robert Lopshire for many reasons. First, I liked the rhyming throughout the book because it made it fun to read aloud, “Like this one here, you’ll like, I know… When I do this from top to toe!” The words flow, allowing the reader to familiarize with rhyming words. I also really enjoyed how colorful the illustrations were throughout the book. Each page has different, bright colors on it that reflect what color Spot is going to turn into next. The message of this book is that even though people may say you are not good enough to do something, only you know yourself and can do your best to prove them wrong. Spot proved the circus wrong; he ended up being too good for the circus, which is inspiring because at first he was told he was not good enough at all. Summary A story of a spot changing animal that is kicked out of the circus because he is old news. He shows the children that he has new tricks, tricks that no one has ever seen, so they tell him that he is too cool for the zoo and that he belongs on TV! Personal Reaction I love this book. It rhymes so it is so easy to stay very upbeat while reading it. This is part two to “Put Me in the Zoo”. Classroom Extension 1. Read during Dr. Suess week! 2.
