I found the book dull at times and a little dry, but quite comprehensive going through the history of the Palestine region from pre-historic times to the fall of Jerusalem in 586 b.c.e. ( ) I used this as my textbook for Biblical Archaeology. It is clear, well written, and nicely organized. It is written from a secular standpoint and, therefore, provides archaeological information only. Only speaks briefly about how the Bible connects to archaeological findings. Provides as very nice overviews of the important sites in Palestine.
