( ) I love this book! The book gives a definition of homophones and homonyms while giving colorful illustrations and descriptions throughout which will help students understand the concepts. This would be perfect for second grade! After the story the students can break up into pairs and create a homophone/homonym book! One the first page the students will be given a homophone and the must come up with a incorrect sentence using the word, such as "I have a rows garden". Then they can make a funny illustration describing their picture on the next page. After that they will use the correct form of the word, such as "I have a rose garden" and then illustrate that one as well. This will be a fun and interactive way for the students to start thinking about the differences in homophones. Then the student will write ONE sentence with two homonyms in the sentence such as "park" (I put the car in park then walked to the park) and will illustrate their sentence as well. The students will enjoy creating this book! I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. The main reason why I enjoyed this book is because it students about homophones and homonyms in a way that is humorous and understandable even for little ones. I have not come across many books that discuss this language arts concept, so this book is unique in that sense! I also love the bright and silly illustrations that illustrate the different homophones and homonyms, which make it easier for students to understand the concept. I would recommend this book to children in about 2nd grade, because the writing isn't too complex but might be a little too difficult for ages younger than 7. It is always important to include a message in books for children, because it is important for kids to learn from what they are reading and this book does just that! Introduces homophones and homonyms in a fun, humorous way that kids will love. The rhymes are silly with pictures that match. This makes it a quick and easy read for kids. Homophones and homonyms are defined at the beginning of the book and are highlighted in different colors through out the book. The book ends with a questions that revises the learned information. This would be great in an English class. It would be fun to have students right their own poems about homophones or other parts of language. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
