Desde entonces, cuando esto ocurre, se dice que una persona ha superado el listón de su "competencia de Peter" y hay varios mecanismos que los responsables de haberla puesto allí pueden utilizar para eludir o minimizar el daño que el nuevo incompetente está causando en la cadena jerárquica. Aquí se explican todos. El principio de Peter es una especie de ley de Murphy jerárquica que nadie debe quedarse sin conocer. 44 years after its publication, The Peter Principle still seems to apply to modern life, which is either a sign of how right Peter and Hull were back then, how little we (as a species) have learned from them, how powerless we really are before The Principle or a morbid mixture of all the above.
