It's a problem which needs to be addressed.
This book doesn't address it.
So this is a book promoted by an LGBT and non monogamous relationship hating group and hated by many Christians, how could it possibly get worse? Focus on the Family doesn't care their book is killing women. They're calling statistics of correlated abuse propaganda to silence them.
What a lot of cocksores.
I cannot word this well enough, abuse is romantically portrayed, overly romanticized, and glorified in fiction. Every other book I can pick up at a bookshop is like that. It's so normal to read and watch romanticized abuse in media. Even if it says get out, it's not that easy, and the book itself uses abusive relationships in anecdotes.
Please don't read this book, and especially don't let it shape your relationships.
These kinds of books are how people get stuck in loveless relationships and abusers are seeded and grown.
If you are in a bad relationship and reading this, take your time and be safe, but get out when you can. It's not your fault you're being abused. If you are LGBT and being abused, that can happen too, it's okay to tell someone about it. Get out when you can. Abuse transcends gender, sexuality, and skin tone.
Be safe and be happy.
No book should define your whole life.
No book should ever threaten you, your relationship, your friendships, or your life either.
Stay strong.
