Fancy Nancy's pajama-day dilemma: she wants to wear her "elegant" nightgown, but Bree asks her to wear the pajamas they both have so they can be twins. Nancy decides on her nightgown ("Bree understands"), but then Clara shows up in pajamas that match Bree's, and Nancy has twin envy. Fortunately, she's able to go home after school, change into her matching pajamas, and play with Bree and Clara. Caution: this book may inspire such a love of pajamas that EVERY day becomes pajama day. Fancy Nancy Pajama Day written by Jana O' Connor is about a little girl who gets excited because her school is having Pajama Day, but realize throughout this day it's not fun as she plan. Her best friends has the same pajamas and is playing together leaving Nancy feeling excluded . Nancy thought wear a nightgrown to pajama day would make her unique, but realize because of this she can't play certain things. At the end of the story Nancy is feeling sad, but her friends asks her would she like to come over to their house to play . Nancy goes home to put on the same pajamas and now all three are triplets. I think the girls in kindgarten and first grade would love this book not only because of illustrations, but most them can relate to how Nancy may feel. The activity I would do with this book after reading this book during story time we would have discussion about the book and all the fancy words but have the same meaning as a regular word example Dilemma and Problem. Fancy Nancy: Pajama Day by Jane O’Conner In this easy reader, Fancy Nancy is going to have a blast at Pajama day at school. However, her friends Bree and Clara show up in matching pajamas making Nancy feel left out. Will pajama day be a day of fun or a day of hurt feelings? I love this story because I remember doing pajama day for homecoming week at school. I think the students can relate to it because they sometimes get to wear crazy things to school. I would use this book with Pre-K through 2nd graders. For the younger students I would read the story and ask the students to come up with ideas of a special day they would like to have in their class. For the 1st and 2nd graders I would have them practice reading the book. I would then have them write a special day they remember having at school. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

This is another sweet tale in the Fancy Nancy catalog of titles. The problems tend to be fairly mundane, but very relatable to young children. The bigger issue here isn't pajama day so much as it is about feeling left out. Luckily, the girls figure out how to resolve the problem before anyone gets too, too upset.
As usual, Nancy teaches readers new words, such as unique and immature, through her 'fancy' way of speaking. The illustrations continue to charm as well. ( )
