This biography of Abraham Lincoln is perfect for younger children who are learning about the many great things he’s accomplished in his life. This book was very simple yet very informational. Before this book I never knew that Abraham had accomplished so many different things in his life. I never knew that he was also a congressman, and a postmaster. This book went through his life and all the many things that Lincoln accomplished. It is the perfect book to incorporate into a social studies lesson for young children. I also like how in the back of the book there were many different facts about Lincoln, and important dates. This is the perfect book to go through those important dates to learn about Abraham Lincoln. ( )

I read this book with my son. We both learned a lot about Abraham Lincoln. I didn’t know he had been the Postmaster of his town in Illinois. My son didn’t know he had been assassinated; he thought he died of natural causes. When he learned that Honest Abe was shot in the theatre sitting next to his wife, my 9 year old son cried. “I thought he just died like an old man or something.” Overall we enjoyed reading this book together and learning new things about our 16th president. It was a rather short bio, but still the book and info provided were of a good quality. I liked that the book was an E book, making it Easy for lower reading levels to enjoy on their own. ( )

Abraham Lincoln worked in a store when he was younger. He would check the bills and return money to anyone who overpaid, a very honest man. When Lincoln was a postmaster, he would carry mail in his tall hat to deliver it. I learned that Lincoln grew a beard because of Grace Bedell, an 11-year old girl, wrote him a letter asking him to "let your whiskers grow." I knew that Lincoln was killed in a theater; however, I did not know that it was only five days after he ended the war. ( )

Abraham Lincoln was a very significant figure for numerous reasons. Not only was he the president of the United States but he is also one of the more accomplished and famous figures in our history. He is credited with the freedom of slavery and is a honest role model we can consistently look towards in times of trouble. Five important facts I learned from this book about Abraham Lincoln were that he loved to read from an early age and his first job was working in Denton Offut’s store. He also worked as a postmaster, lawyer, congressman and eventually president of the United States. He also only grew a beard because a young girl named Grace Bedell wrote him a letter. The book itself appears to be accurate in their facts. The format and style of the book offers the brief and simplified story of Abraham Lincoln’s life. This would be a perfect book for young students to read. ( )

A brief biography of Abraham Lincoln, easy to read for young children. Not too sure if everything is accurate but children may enjoy reading the book on their own. ( )
