This is a great book on the history and problems of invasive species entering the Great Lakes. It starts with the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Erie Canal and continues all the way to modern-day issues. It thoroughly explains its effects on native lake fish species, the sport fishing industry, and even the function of lakeshore nuclear power plants. It is pretty long and detailed, so it might not be worth reading unless you're already interested in the subject or are willing to dive into it. I saw it on the nonfiction shelves in my local library and decided to give it a shot, and got hooked. Haha, hooked, I didn't even mean to make a joke there. ( )
