This is the 2nd time I've read this book and found it just as amazing the 2nd time around. ( )

A book written right before the Y2K craze. A woman is the begotten daughter of god and everything takes place on and around the New Year of 2000.
At first I thought it was blasphemous, but several comments made me realize the author didn't know a thing about Christianity and was just kluging popular ideas together. My main tipoff was his off the cuff reaction of the 7th Day Adventists to this new messiah". He simply didn't have a clue. Second was the repeated references to "church/temple of the self. God is inside." Antithesis to true Christianity.
Everything else fell pretty flat as well. Characterization came out candy thin and by the end everyone was all 'lets love everybody and do the right thing' without any real change or reason for change. Romance was forced onto us like an ugly old relative wanting a kiss on the mouth. The plot relied on action sequences driven by mega-maniacal authority figures that made me cringe with their fakeness. Overall, this is one book I really should have not finished, but I had to so I could call it the utter, complete piece of trash it is. AVOID AT ALL COST!" ( )

After reading Mr. Kleier's newest book I went on a hunt for this one. After locating it and a long reading hiatus due to school this was an incredibly excellent book to start with. I loved the religious fervor that was in no way exaggerated from what the millenium produced. I enjoyed the plot lines and the character of Jeza!! A must read for anyone who loves a thriller and crazy religion! ( )

Thoroughly enjoyed this new twist on "end of days" storyline. Well written & a fast read. Recommended. ( )

Een Amerikaanse televisiereporter wordt in Jeruzalem aan de vooravond van het millennium geconfronteerd met vreemde gebeurtenissen, zoals de mysterieuze vernietiging van een geheim researchcentrum waar proeven op mensen worden gedaan, een immense aardschok en de verschijning van een jonge vrouw met exceptionele vermogens. Hij is vastbesloten haar ware identiteit te achterhalen en komt uiteindelijk tot de conclusie dat zij de volgens de apocalyps voorspelde nieuwe Messias is. Een spannende thriller met een gegeven dat soms vergezocht lijkt, maar goed is uitgewerkt. Het bevat uiteraard theologische uitweidingen, maar de vaart gaat er nooit uit. Een boeiende geheel dat wellicht door sommigen als tendentieus zal worden ervaren.
