The big picture in Arthur and the Popularity Test is you should be who you are, not change who you are just because you think someone may like you more. Overall I thought this was a good book. One reason I liked the book was the characters are believable and relatable. For example when Arthur finds a girl magazine the author says "He held it out at arms length as though it was radioactive...I hope I didn't catch anything." This is relatable to young boys in elementary school, because at that age many boys think girls are gross. As second reason I liked the book was the illustrations enchanted the story. Since the book is a chapter book there was only 1-2 illustrations per chapter, but I liked that they helped sum up what happened in the chapter, and that can be useful for young readers. Finally, I liked that the book pushes readers to broaden their perspective about being oneself and what it's like to be a girl coming of age. The book revolves around Sue Ellen and Fern taking a quiz in a teenage's girls magazine and them trying to change who they are based on their quiz results. The book shows readers that it's hard to be a girl growing up, and that it's always better to just be yourself. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
