Lectio Divina, Latin for divine reading, is a series of Bible studies that calls Christians to slow down, read Scripture, meditate on it, and prayerfully respond as they "listen to God" through His Word. While he was in Ephesus on his third missionary journey, word reached Paul about the spiritual immaturity, theological misunderstandings, and behavioral issues going on among the Corinthian believers. Even in the church, among those who professed the name of Christ, issues of immorality, divisiveness, leadership struggles, misuse of spiritual gifts, and questionable theologies were evident. Commentator Paul Benware summarized the book's theme by noting, "Now that these people were saved by faith in Christ, Paul wanted their lives to accurately reflect their position as children of God...As believers in Christ, we are to be in the process of being set apart unto God and as a result set apart from sin. This was Paul's desire for the Corinthian believers." Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
