It was a bit I read this series, so I’m not completely sure the feeling is correct but I had the impression Enticing Elliott was a little more light than the other in the series, and the same characters were making fun of all the “you are my mate, you will be mine forever” line that is so predominant in the previous novellas.

Maybe that is due to the fact that Parker is a simple enforcer, not an Alpha or Beta or whatever of the pack. He is mostly a supporting character and as such his story is nice but on the comfort level; Anthony, the Alpha Mate, wants to match him with Elliott, his half-wolf accountant, but neither Anthony was expecting that Elliott is indeed Parker’s true mate. When Parker meets Elliott, there is nothing to prevent him claiming his mate, if not that Elliott, in his human form, is not able to recognize his own true mate.

There is also the sweet characteristic of Elliott being a virgin, a home-schooled kid who has never had the chance to experiment with other kids. Plus both men seemed to me a little mommy boys, even if, in the case of Parker it evolved in a deep love for his late mother and instead it seemed that Elliott has not such a good relationship with his own mother. All small details, just hinted, but that gave “personality” to the story.

The Moon Pack series of short stories is still holding strong. In this fifth installment, Anthony (ever the cupid) invites Elliott to the pack's club, where Parker is waiting to claim him as his mate. Now, in the last story it was hinted that Parker is a Dom (as in BDSM) waiting for a sub. And while the men do tease a little with 'tied to the bed' style bondage, that is as far as it goes in the actual story; they leave their serious toys to the readers' imagination. That's not to say there isn't a hot sex scene, there is, just not true BDSM.

What was a happy surprise was the continuation of an underlying plot introduced in Courting Calvin about mutant werewolves that are threatening the pack. Parker and Elliott find themselves in danger from them, and the pack learns a bit more about their existence. Having this thread continue through each story makes them more enjoyable as a whole. While any of these stories can be read as a stand alone, it is better to read them in sequence to get the extra nuance from knowing these characters already. Recommended! ( )
