Some children may recognize him from the Nick Jr. television show. This book is a gentle introduction to Dr. King's work. Little Bill interprets the lessons from a child's perspective, thinking about how he can avoid conflicts at school and how to be more thoughtful and caring. It is a story children can easily follow and relate to. If a class is celebrating heroes or Black History month, this would be a good book to include as a read out loud. Children could make an album similar to Little Bill's. They could cut out pictures or draw pictures to illustrate sharing, helping others, and kindness. The children could do a short presentation, talking about a time they did one of these actions...or even a time they didn't and what they could have done differently at that time. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Personal Reaction: I enjoyed this book. I used to watch Little Bill on TV, so I was already familiar with the characters. But I felt like this book was a great way to teach children about Dr. King.
Classroom Extension:
1) The class could do the same thing that Bill's classroom did; make a flower in honor of someone that’s known for promoting peace and equality.
2) This book would also be used when teaching about Dr. Kings dream, since the book helps explain it a little bit more simply than most text books.
