I checked out a bunch of family history books from the city library. Many of them I found interesting, but stopped reading them about 1/3 of the way into them. This one held my interest so much that I bought 8 copies and handed them out at a 2012 family reunion. ( )

"There is something that draws people to the past,
A delicate thread of spirit and soul
that binds us with our past.
This is the essence of our ancestors
that does not die when they do.
It is a persistent part of their life's force
that waits quietly for someone to listen."
