I know that I read this one years ago so I thought that I would try it again. I still enjoyed it and recommend it to those who like Amish fiction.

The back cover said it well, "Love is a promise - for better or worse". This will prove true when a group of 8 cousins and friends from an Indiana Amish community gets into a tragic accident. Some die, some are forever changed. Loraine and Wayne are two of those in the accident, and were soon to be married. But Wayne loses part of his leg and feels he can now never marry Loraine. As much as he pushes her away (and practically into the arms of another man), Loraine fights to remain by his side and show him her love. It was a pretty hard beginning to this book, but ended with love winning out. (
