New York Times Bestseller: The hunt is on for a missing woman in steamy Florida in this romantic thriller from an author who "knows what readers want" (Publishers Weekly).   Few people in Florida worry when Marnie Newcastle disappears. A successful lawyer with a wild side, Marnie has been known to disappear during her passionate love affairs. But Samantha Miller, a college friend who is as sensible as Marnie is impulsive, knows better. When Marnie vanishes a few days after moving into her dream house, Samantha is the only one who doesn't think her friend is off on another tryst. There are dark secrets in Marnie's past, and Samantha thinks one of them may have gotten her killed.   Investigating Marnie's menagerie of ex-lovers, Samantha finds a crooked contractor, a rock star, and a homicide cop--all with something to hide. A killer is stalking the Florida swamps, and Samantha must find him before he finds her--or else she may be the next to die.   This ebook features an illustrated biography of Heather Graham including rare photos from the author's personal collection.… (altro)

I didn't like this book at first. It takes place in Florida. Several women disappear. One friend and neighbor thinks something is terribly wrong and tells everyone she sees that something bad has happened. There are a lot of possible suspects. A lot of secrets between a group of people that own a strip club and the connections between them and the missing women complicate the search. There is a homicide cop that has slept with one of the missing women, a rock star that just moved into the neighborhood has slept with the same woman, a handsome lawyer, a co-owner of a gym, the list goes on. As the story really got going, I started to get interested. By the middle of the book, I wanted to know what happened to the women, who was the man involved, could the ones I liked be trusted or were they involved. I didn't know till the very end. ( )

From BackCover:
MARNIE LIVED FOR PLEASURE. DID SHE DIE FOR IT, TOO?

She was a high-powered attorney with beauty, brains, and a brand-new dream house. Men found her irresistible. Women called her out-of-control. And when Marnie Newcastle disappeared one fateful night, everyone assumed she'd run off for a wild weekend of self-indulgent pleasure.

But Samantha Miller suspected the worst. A close friend and neighbor, Samantha knew that Marnie's life wasn't as perfect as it seemed. Her past was haunted by abuse; her nights, fired by passion. So many men. so many suspects. And Smantha was determined to meet them face-to-face: The lawyer. The homicide cop. The contractor. And the gorgeous rock star who aroused more desire than suspicion....

With a lineup like this, Samantha would either fall in love -- or get herself killed. ( )
