This both a repetitive rhyming book and a dinosaur identification book. Starting with an opening scene of two prehistoric critters and a vast valley, the text reads "There's a quake and a quiver and a rumbling around. It makes you shiver. It's a thundery sound. Shake, shake shudder...near the sludgy old swamp. The dinosaurs are coming. Get ready to romp." This really sets to tone of anticipation with it's rich word choice. Over the next pages various dinosaurs come into view as they make their way to the romp: triceratops, Deinosuchus, and eventually even a Tyrannosaurus! This books makes for a delightful read aloud. All the dinosaurs come together for the dinosaurumpus! Readers are taken on the adventure of seeing how each of the dinosaurs get ready for their dinosaurumpus. The night has come, and the rumpus is in full swing, but everyone begins to hear a noise. The noise is going from a T-rex, and all the other dinosaurs get scared, but the T-rex only wants to join in on all the fun. All the dinosaurs enjoyed their rumpus until they all fell asleep. This book had vibrant illustrations of dinosaurs that kept the book with a fun feel to it. The text was written with a rhyme that gave the story a great flow. This could potentially be a great read a loud book with children. This is a great book! I has lots of color and a sense about it that will make your listeners grab on to it. It talks about dinosaurs and can teach kids about them in a fun way that a young child can understand. This can be used in your music class, or in your science class. This could also be used just to spruce up your class during a slow boring day. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
