Age: 3 to 6 years old Math can be a lot more fun if we get to eat the numbers in the end. Readers are instructed to use pieces of candy as a concrete representation of addition, subtraction, division, and even geometry. One after the other, colorful pieces of hard-shell candy are placed on the page (addition), organized according to patterns (division), and then removed from the page into the reader’s mouth (subtraction). The M & M's brand chocolate candies counting book is a counting book that leaves a sweet taste in the reader’s mouth. The pieces of candy help make Math concrete for kids. Each page has clear instructions for each operation in rhyme and a mathematical representation of each step; numbers and operations are written in colorful handwritten font at the right bottom corner of every page. The M & M’s are larger than life, making it easy for kids to see each piece and follow the instructions. This is a great counting book with a sweet ending. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Personal Reactions: Love this book. I remember reading this book as a kid in school. Since it's to due with candy you know that the kids will be more into it. I also like on almost every page it gives compliments to the kids when they do it right.
Classroom Extension: Bring in the book with the candy for the kids to read out loud with me and count all together. By having the candy and giving the candy away, you will know that you have their attention. This book taught me and I would love to teach kids with it. ( )
