The ducklings follow mama duck wherever she goes and make noises as they go. This board book uses repetition, rhyme, and onomatopoeia to engage young listeners in the ducklings’ story. The soft-shaded illustrations done in watercolor and collage of the ducklings’ journey following mama duck are adorable and work well with the simple text. This book is sure to delight toddlers and young kids. ( ) In this adorable board book, the reader follows a bunch of ducklings from the time they are hatched as they follow their mother around. The text uses a lot of repetition, like small readers like to hear. I read this book aloud to my 2-year-old nephew, who liked to “read” along with all the “quack quack quack” and “peep peep peep” type sections. The realistic, softly shaded illustrations are an added bonus. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

When a rhythmic read-aloud master pairs up with a Caldecott Honorwinning artist to visit endearing species of baby animals, the result can only be instant toddler appeal. QUACK! Mama Duck announces the hatching of five peeping, waddling, flapping, nibbling, wobbling, wibbling baby ducklings. Splish, splosh, splash! A lively, lilting text by Phyllis Root links with luminous collages by Holly Meade in an original board book perfect for reading aloud to the preschool crowd.
