The short lives and strange deaths of Marybeth Tinnings, I followed this in the newspaper, starting with the death of her 2nd child, when I read about the third, I could not understand why someone wasn't looking into this. The news articles continued, until I found this book - Unfortunately the author did not look at where the mother was coming from. This is a riveting true story about the life of Marybeth Tinning and the 9 children she killed. The author very artfully and intricately directs the reader through every phase of Marybeth's life and gives great detail without getting too clinical and boring. I found the book very interesting but at times frustrating because you are aware that she is getting away with murder. Thankfully it is finally put to an end. There are many people who could have come forth with pertinent information but chose not too, for fear of Marybeth or other reasons. The book gave a good view of how a jury should work together. A well written story of a woman who murdered all nine of her children (was only convicted of three). Did Mary Beth Tinning suffer from Munchausen's Syndrome By Proxy? Or was she simply a sadistic person who loved the attention and sympathy she received following the death of a child? The reader can draw his or her own conclusions. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Year after year, one after another, the babies of Marybeth Tinning died - nine children in 14 years. Incredibly, neither police nor coroners, doctors, social workers or neighbours suspected anything. The vague verdicts of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome fooled even Marybeth's husband. On 4th February 1986, however, six weeks after the last baby's death, even he had to face the unthinkable - as his wife was charged with their murder. This book tells the story of Marybeth Tinning's children, her arrest and subsequent trial. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
