Lo stile è un po’ troppo “bravo diario semiquotidiano di brava donna vittoriana”, la linea del “va sempre tutto bene” la vince su tutto, sui 55° all’ombra, sui topi che ti passeggiano in faccia, sullo sguazzare nel fango fino alla cintola, d’altronde la prosa della Christie è così: senza fronzoli, asciutta e non troppo descrittiva, con qualche insopportabile notazione di superiorità colonialista di chi prende il tè a bordo scavo in tazze di porcellana. Un paio di risate qua e là ma non c’è nulla delle atmosfere magiche della Turchia e della Siria che ho conosciuto. Si fa cmq leggere
