A lot more solid than Double Act - Charlie was a lot more likeable, and the interactions between her and the other characters were far more believable. The bit about the kid getting pneumonia was a little over the top, and the Victorian bits were about as boring as you would expect an eleven-year old's writing to be. But apart from that, a solid read! ( ) A lot more solid than Double Act - Charlie was a lot more likeable, and the interactions between her and the other characters were far more believable. But apart from that, a solid read! The Lottie Project by Jacqueline Wilson The Lottie Project might be a good book for some of you but in my opinion it's a pretty boring book. I think i don't really like it because I'm not a big fan of history. This is a book about a girl ages ago and then about a girl of today. Jacqueline Wilson is a nice writer and some of her books are my favourites. Her books are hilarious but this one was a serious one and some people like serious books. If you like history and serious books i recommend you read this book because this book has a lot of fascinating stuff! I have this as an omnibus with the Suitcase Kid, so just ran straight into it. I don't like it as much as the Suitcase Kid, mostly because the heroine is a Jacqueline Wilson 'annoying but spunky' kid, but she rubs me up the wrong way more than Tracey and Elsie do. And the cheesy 'I am melodramatically writing up my life with all its problems exaggerated as a victorian pauper' just bores me with its self obsessed sacchirine nature. On the other hand, it's a wonderful wonderful book for 'parents have needs as well as their children, and even very loving parents need to do things for themselves sometimes' as well as having a lovely 'happy but sensible' ending. Solid and enjoyable Jacqueline Wilson. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
