I did not enjoy this book. I do not think it has a good plot, not does it leave any message for the reader. This book is extremely confusing, one cannot tell if the story actually happened or if it is just a crazy story being told by a child when they get home from a birthday party. If the story had been framed better than I think the plot would have been funny, but right now its just confusing. I do however like the illustrations, they add to the words on the page, and the hilarity of the story. This book did not have any big idea or message that could find within it.

I enjoyed reading this book. My favorite part about it was how the whole story was a continuous conversation between Meggie and her mom with no narration. It engaged the reader and made you want to keep reading to find out all the crazy things that happened at Jimmy's birthday party. I thought the idea of the story was great and it was fun to read. Another thing I liked about reading this story was how detailed the illustrations were that accompanied the text. They really added to the story and enhanced the fun of it all. I especially enjoyed the ending picture because there was no text. It was a large illustration that fit the entire page and summed up all of the events that had happened at Jimmy's party. I think the big message of this story is to have a creative imagination. ( )
