This review refers to the 1989 edition. Gr 3 – 6—This is a 64-pages indexed photo essay that introduces the world of plants. Topics range from what a plant is to uses of plants. Each section is a two-page spread packed with information, mostly in small font worked in and around the large and brightly colored photographs. The vocabulary (adventitious) and sentence structure are for older readers, but even younger readers will enjoy the photographs and will be able to work out some details. ( )
