Menzioni
Do you people get that way from living here, or were you all peculiar to start with? someone once asked Louise Dickinson Rich. In her early thirties, she took to the woods with her husband. They found their livelihood and raised a family in the remote Maine backcountry. Louise made time after morning chores to write about their lives, and these magnificent books are the result. They are still captivating readers a half-century later. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

There's something about Rich's writing style that makes her stories compelling, no matter how trivial the subject. It's like we're all sitting around the campfire and she's telling you all about her life. Absolutely brilliant stuff and anyone who wants to learn how to write well could benefit by reading and imitating some of her style. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys interesting memoirs, Maine, or well-written non-fiction. ( )
