When I first read this, I thought journey was pointless. Now I appreciate what these characters go through. How they all come together despite being from different clans will help them move to a different home. Creating some good character development. The view point is now Stormfur with every other chapter switching to Leafpaw back in the forest. I like how we get to see the distress the clans are going through. It gives an urgency for Stormfur and co. to get back home. The first 1/3 was a bit slow then soon picks up with its usual drama and action. Also there are a few twist and turns. I notice a slit improvement of the writing. I been hearing about how the newer books improves in their quality in the writing. This is the start of it. The six cats who made the journey to the sun-drown place, Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Tawnypelt, Crowpaw, Stormfur, and Feathertail, say goodbye to Midnight, the badger StarClan sent them to find, and prepare to begin their journey back to the forest, but Midnight offers to accompany them to the edge of the nearby woods. There they are reunited with Purdy, the elderly loner who 'guided' them through Twolegplace, and they all stop to hunt in the woods while Tawnypelt rests her injured shoulder. Stormfur is irritated that Crowpaw asks Feathertail to hunt with him, and even more so when she agrees, knowing that their relationship will cause trouble when they return to the forest. Returning from their hunt the cats are ambushed by a pair of foxes, but Midnight drives them off by threatening them in their language. They debate whether to travel through the Twolegplace or go through the snowy mountains in the distance. On Midnight's suggestion and from fear of the dangers that they encountered on their first journey, they decide to travel through the mountains to return home. Purdy starts to object to their choice but is silenced by Midnight, who seems to know the destinies of all six cats. They say goodbye to Midnight and Purdy and set off for the mountains. While they are in their journey, Firestar is discussing with the other clan leaders the two-legs destroying the forest but, Shadow-Star (Shadow-clan leader) just starts to mock him since Firestar was originally a kitty pet. Back on the mountain, the six cats are recuperating from an eagle attack. They finally find the tribe of Rushing Water. The six cats later find out that the tribe is being preyed upon by a sabertooth tiger named Sharptooth. The tribe also tells the six cats that there will be a silver cat that saves us from Sharptooth. Back in the forest, Leafpaw is on the Riverclan territory so that the Thunderclan cats can have something to eat since the two-legs were scaring all of the other animals away. Also that same day River clan cats were being killed off. Sheepaw drowned and Dappletail died eating a rabbit that poisoned her. Back on the mountains, the 6 cats from Thunder-clan decided to sneak in so that they could rescue Stormfur but, they arrive right when Sharptooth is attacking the tribe. So they decided to try to trick him by putting death berries into a rabbit so he could at them and die but, the plan fails and he tries killing Crowpaw. Before we could even lay a hand on Crowpaw Feathertail dives at Sharptooth and they both die. After that, they bury Feathertail near the waterfall the clan cats return. Overall I found the story decent it was interesting. It wasn't like one o those books you fall asleep to while reading in your bed. Also, another thing I liked about this book is that the story didn't just focus on the main clans. For example, they included a cat tribed and they talked about the two-legs. If you are into animal wildlife I would recommend this book to you. It has action and it also ends in a cliff hanger making you want to read the next book. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
