Stile molto ottocentesco per questo interessante ed originale romanzo che riesce a catturare l'attenzione nonostante sia, infine, piuttosto lento e a tratti noioso. Una sottile linea di mistero ed inquietudine infatti lo attraversa, prevaricando le numerose e poco interessanti pag. di "contorno" alla vicenda principale. Imperdibile, almeno a mio parere, il famoso 18° capitolo che offre un accenno di spiegazione. Un libro da leggere pur nella consapevolezza che non è niente di eccezionale. ( )
