Sharon and Tom go on vacation with a distant aunt they've never met. Right from the start things are a little fishy. They're planned trip happens quite suddenly, a few weeks before planned. And they don't go to Aunt Eve's farmhouse but rather an idyllic island peopled with all middle-aged and older people. Aunt Eve informs them fairly soon that they have, indeed been kidnapped, and kidnapped very well, so there is little chance of escaping.

What, indeed, do these old folks want with these kids? Nothing sinister. Merely to infuse their island with youth, to change things up a bit. For the people on this island are not exactly as they seem. And Tom and Sharon are not to be kept forever against their will. In a few months, they will have a choice. They can leave the island if they choose.

This is, of course, an older book. Upon selecting it, I found it had a number of excellent reviews. I do not know if it's the age of the book (though I do enjoy many older books) or what, but I did not particularly like this book. I didn't find the characters that interesting. I didn't find the dilemma that difficult. Sure, for some characters it would be. But for these characters? I just didn't sense that it was a real problem for them, though it was made out to be. I wasn't terribly interested in any of the characters, to be honest. ( )
