While the book helps with the alphabet it also tells a story. Would be a great read aloud to help practice the alphabet. It's repetition can really help young ones remember. Naughty little Monkeys was a fun book to read. This book is about 26 little monkeys who act naughty while their parents are out of the house. Each of the monkeys names begin with a different letter of the alphabet. This book would be a fun and enthusiastic way to teach the students the alphabet. It can also be used to teach a moral lesson about being trusted home alone. Aylesworth’s Naughty Little Monkeys goes through the alphabet with accompanying words with matching letter sounds telling the story of 26 monkeys who do naughty things while their parents are on a date. The target word matching the target sound is presented in a different color to make it stand out. The story finally finishes with the monkeys being returned to the zoo where they belong. Children will love reading the rhymes about the various naughty things that the monkeys do. The author uses a lot of different sounds for the vowels so I would either pre-teach this or I would use this with students who are solid on their letter sounds. A writing project to reinforce sounds for students struggling with certain sounds would be to assign the student a sound they are struggling with, have them partner with a student that has that letter mastered and then have the students illustrate and write a rhyme about something naughty the monkeys do. I chose to read this book because it reminded me of the story, '10 little monkies jumping on the bed!' and just like that story, the monkeys in this story were very mischivious too! Each monkey had a naughty behavior that corresponded to the letters of the alphabet. very fun! the main theme of this book was naughty monekeys, with the concept around learning the alphabet. a teacher could use this book to teach her students the alphabet in a fun and entertaining way! Great illustrations by Henry Cole. I like that they tie each letter to a name of a monkey. I wish Jim Aylesworth would have included the names as part of the story, as it would have made it a little more connected. The repetition of 'Naughty Little Monkey' got to be a bit much after page number 25... I understand the repetitive nature of the book, but felt it could have been done differently. Cute story, just repetitive. #abcs nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Mom thinks all twenty-six of her monkeys are angelic, but from Andy's wayward airplane to Zelda's trip to the zoo, these little ones find a way to get into mischief for each letter of the alphabet. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
