I did not enjoy this book as much as the one that prompted me to buy it - The Society of Others. Where Society of Others was intriguing, reading Trial of True Love mostly found me wishing I could just finish it and get it done and over with. It's central theme and resolution of it has been done countlessly in films and novels.

Maybe it's to do with being more of a guy's book - but I found it a less than satisfactory novel, I expected better from Nicholson! (
