The book Magic School Bus Fights Germs is about a teacher and her students who go on an adventure into the human body. The body they end up venturing into is Wanda. She is a student and peer of the class who has gotten sick. While the class is inside of Wanda, they learn all about red and white blood cells, fevers, antibodies, and more! This book is a great way for teachers to introduce a health unit. I love this book because it is part of the Magic School Bus series that has A LOT of other books you could use in your classroom to introduce many other topics to students while keeping them engaged. Wanda gets sick. As she walks to the nurses office, the rest of the class shrink while they ride the bus into her mouth. You learn about red, white blood cells and antibodies. Wanda ends up going to the doctors to get Antibiotics.

Wanda, a student in Ms. Frizzle's class, gets a sore throat and goes to the office to get a cough drop. She swallows the cough drop, which is the magic school bus, and the class begins their journey through her body. The bus stops at different parts of her throat and the teacher lets them explore and teaches them about blood vessels, fevers, white blood cells, and antibiotics.
This is a very interactive way to teach young kids about germs. Highly engaging and informative illustrations. A nice, close-up look at the inside of the throat.
